The 10" x 2" grinding wheel turns at a slow 90 rpm through
water. The water lubricates the grinding action, keeps the tool edge
cool so as to prevent overheating and drawing the temper from the steel,
and keeps grinding dust out of the air. No sparks are produced. Use
the leather honing wheel on the left to remove the burr and hone the
tool edge.
Included
with the Tormek is the exclusive SE-76 Square Edge Jig, which enables
you to grind tools perfectly square every time - and without scraping
your knuckles! Many other jigs are available (see jigs
below).
