Cutting
mortises into wood requires a unique and dedicated tool.
Few
makers are left in the world, as this technology has been deemed
obsolete, but how else do you cut mortises into timber frames
or mortises for making windows and doors? Or mortises into fence
posts? We have searched and found the best suppliers in Europe
and USA. We also make some drive sprockets on our own, to guarantee
the roundest, quietest chain drive operation. Today's chains
are made with precision CNC machines, in order to run rounder,
smoother, quieter. Check it out, our chains cut the cleanest
mortise!

We
recommend "Hard-chrome Plated" chains. Hard-chrome
plated chains hold their sharp edge at least double the time,
compared to standard hardened chains.
When
ordering, refer to these dimensions (see picture at left).
Choose "A" type
chains for most applications of routine mortise work with North
American timbers.
Choose "B" pitch chains for work of higher level of
accuracy and precision. This chain is less aggressive and susceptible
to breaking under duress.
Choose "C" type only for extremely precise work.
Hard Chrome Plated chains
The
hard chrome plated option actually doubles time between sharpenings.
