The
KSF-300 Chain Slotter
is an essential tool for all types of carpentry and construction
- not only for joinery work such as on timber frames. The
compact design and comfortable weight of this versatile chain
slotter is ideal for mobile applications such as roof repairs
or renovations, restorations of old buildings or additionally
for repairs as become applicable on site.
Given
the large, stabilized lateral guide, the chain slotter can be
safely controlled even when working on installed bulkheads,
or when working in overhead situations. The
Swiss KSF-300 Chain Slotter
is made in a very robust design, geared for efficient cutting
of slots and mortises, with a sturdy aluminum guide stand
and easily re-adjusted fences. Every part that could be
subject to excessive wear and tear is re-enforced or oversized.
It is also nicely weight balanced when lifted. Wood chips
are ejected sideways, leaving the cutting area clean for
viewing. The tool is complemented with two fences for even
and straight cuts. As more user comments are confirming:
many general problems that afflict slotters and mortisers
have been eliminated with the Swiss
KSF-300.
The motor drive shaft will not split apart because of heavy
gauge used and a spline that is not drilled through end
to end, thereby maintaining integrity of the shaft while
holding the drive sprocket firmly in place. The bar will
not run out of square, as it is held by a large metal key
embedded and backed by re-enforced gauge of the housing.
That holds the bar parallel and keeps tension equalized
over a wide housing area.
That
makes the Swiss KSF-300
Chain Slotter extremely reliable
over time, and an essential high production tool for
all types of carpentry - especially slotting, such as
on timber frames for metal inserts. The maximum depth
of cut reaches about 12" or
300mm. We use standard imperial dimension chain sizes, but
can supply metric and custom sizes of bars and chains.
